A quick note before you begin…

All recipes below use the same directions. In each case, melt beeswax gently and safely using a double boiler. Keep beeswax uncovered while melting — you don’t want boiling water to condense on the lid and drip into your wax. Do not use a microwave — beeswax can easily reach the flashpoint and ignite.

Health and Beauty Beeswax Recipes

  1. Lip Balm

1 tbsp beeswax
2 tbsp coconut oil
2 capsules of vitamin E

2. Petroleum Jelly

1-ounce beeswax
1/2 cup mineral oil (or baby oil)

3. All-Purpose Skin Cream

3 ounces beeswax
2/3 cup mineral oil or baby oil
4 ounces lanolin
3/4 cup water
1 tsp borax
A few drops of your favourite fragrant oil

4. Herbal Salve

2 ounces beeswax
1 ounce Jojoba oil
3 ounces of sweet almond oil
1/2 ounce canola oil
2 tbsp essential oil of your choice

5. Lip Gloss

1 tbsp beeswax
1 tbsp sweet almond or coconut oil
4 drops essential oil (orange, lemon, mint,….)

6. Hand Lotion

1 part beeswax
4 parts olive oil (add a little
coconut oil)

7. Antiseptic Balm

2 ounces beeswax
1 ounce Jojoba oil
3 ounces of sweet almond oil
1 tbsp wheatgerm oil
1 tbsp myrrh essential oil
1 tbsp tea tree essential oil

8. Moisturizing Cream

1ounce beeswax
4 ounces of sweet almond oil
2 ounces water
1 tsp vitamin E oil
1 tsp lavender essential oil

Household Use Beeswax Recipes

9. Bare Wood Finish

1lb beeswax
1 pint turpentine
1 pint boiled linseed oil
Apply with a soft cloth, dry, then buff with wool

10. Wood Furniture Polish

1ounce beeswax
1 pint turpentine
2 cups water
1 ounce soap flakes
